Discovery call
How you use the room and what isn't working. Bring a Pinterest board or screenshots, your price level, and photos with rough measurements. No clean files needed; I'll tell you exactly what to send.
Step 02 · About 1 week later
Concept & layout
A creative direction, a furniture layout for your room and a moodboard of colors, materials and finishes. Up to 2 revision rounds, and your approval before we move on.
Step 03 · 2–3 weeks after approval
Final room design
Furniture, lighting and décor at your price level with links, two options for key pieces, a visualization of the room and a styling guide. Up to 2 revision rounds.

Meet, brief & design
A 1-hour meeting in person or on Zoom and a shared Pinterest board. Then the design, shop drawings, materials and finishes, and 3D renders. About 1 week.
02 · We coordinate
Quote, liaise & supervise
We send your approved drawings to an independent fabricator, bring you their quote and stay your single point of contact while it's made.
03 · They build
Fabricate & install
The fabricator builds, delivers and installs your piece. We oversee installation to confirm it matches what you approved.

Good to know
Do I sign anything before we start?
Yes. Every service has a short, plain-English agreement with the scope, price and timeline. Work starts once it's signed, and you'll always see the full terms first.
What happens after I approve a design?
Approvals are final, so we build or deliver exactly what you signed off on. Changes after approval are re-quoted (room design and custom furniture) or billed at $50/hour (shop drawings).
Who is responsible for the furniture itself?
Laboratoria designs and coordinates. Independent fabricators build and install, and they stand behind their work with their own warranty. Natural materials like wood and stone will vary a little from samples and renders.
Are timelines guaranteed?
They're estimates. They depend on how quickly approvals come back and, for furniture, on the maker's lead time.
Do you work outside Los Angeles?
Yes. Room by Room and Shop Drawings are fully online, and we work across Los Angeles and Mexico.
